Terms of Use
These terms explain how our informational website, one-of-a-kind inventory, custom work, payments, shipping, and returns are handled.
Effective September 10, 2026
Informational use
You may use this website to learn about our work, browse available and past pieces, ask questions, and begin a purchase or custom-work conversation. Please do not misuse the site, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or use its content unlawfully.
One-of-a-kind availability
Most pieces are one of a kind and may also be shown or sold in person. A listing does not guarantee continued availability. An item is not reserved or sold until the website's shared inventory and payment workflow confirms the applicable state. Online purchasing pauses during active shows and remains paused until post-show inventory reconciliation is completed.
Prices and order acceptance
Prices are shown in U.S. dollars unless stated otherwise. Shipping is added under our published shipping policy. High-value, meteorite, and approved international orders require an actual insured-shipping quote before payment. Before Production checkout is enabled, applicable tax treatment must be configured and presented before payment authorization. We may decline or cancel an unpaid order when inventory is unavailable, payment cannot be verified, or fulfillment would violate an applicable restriction.
Photographs, descriptions, and natural variation
For one-of-a-kind listings, we aim to show the actual piece. Screen color, lighting, scale, natural pattern, fractures, and other material characteristics can vary. General educational information does not authenticate the provenance, species, age, or identity of a particular specimen unless the individual listing says that information is verified.
Custom work
Project scope, materials, price, timing, customer-supplied items, and approvals are confirmed before work begins. Natural materials and handmade work cannot guarantee an exact copy of another piece. Custom work and custom-work deposits are nonrefundable because deposits are used for project materials and supplies. The customer must acknowledge that policy before a deposit or final payment.
Custom knife manufacturers
Some custom knives offered or displayed by Rough Cut Lapidary are made using genuine knives from third-party manufacturers as the base. Handle materials and other custom modifications are performed by Rough Cut Lapidary unless otherwise stated. Rough Cut Lapidary is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by those manufacturers. Modification of a manufacturer's knife may affect or void the original manufacturer's warranty.
Payment
When Production payments are enabled, payment entry will occur through provider-hosted Square or PayPal flows. Rough Cut Lapidary does not collect full card numbers or card security codes. A browser return or confirmation screen alone does not prove payment; the provider and our order record must confirm it.
Shipping and returns
Domestic shipping, insurance, signature requirements, quote-first orders, transit damage, and eligible returns are governed by our Shipping and Returns policy. U.S. return requests must be made within 30 calendar days after tracked delivery. Custom work is nonrefundable. International orders are quote-first and available only for destinations we have approved.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, Rough Cut Lapidary owns the website text, branding, layout, and photographs it created. You may view and share links to public pages for personal, noncommercial use. Do not copy, sell, republish, or use our content or branding to imply endorsement without permission.
External links
We sometimes link to independent educational, show, carrier, or payment-provider websites. Those sites control their own content, availability, privacy practices, and terms. A link does not make us responsible for an external site.
Website availability and responsibility
We work to keep information accurate and the website available, but maintenance, provider outages, inventory reconciliation, or other conditions may interrupt access. To the extent permitted by law, Rough Cut Lapidary is not responsible for indirect or incidental loss caused solely by use of or inability to use this website. Nothing here limits a right or responsibility that applicable law does not allow us to limit.
