This fixed-blade knife combines Aletai iron meteorite with dinosaur gembone and mammoth tooth in the handle. Etching reveals the Widmanstätten pattern across the meteorite blade.
About the Widmanstätten patternThe Widmanstätten pattern is an intergrowth of the nickel and iron minerals kamacite and taenite. It formed as metal cooled extremely slowly inside an asteroid over millions of years. Polishing and etching bring the pattern into view. This natural structure cannot be reproduced by ordinary metalworking on Earth.
