About Nephrite jadeNephrite is one of the two mineral materials traditionally recognized as jade, the other being jadeite. Nephrite is composed of tightly interlocking amphibole minerals, primarily within the tremolite-actinolite series. This fibrous, interlocking structure gives nephrite exceptional toughness and has made it valued for carving, tools, ornaments, and jewelry for thousands of years. Its color commonly ranges from creamy white to many shades of green, with darker coloration generally associated with increasing iron content.
