Damascus Steel Knife with Mammoth Tooth Handles
Past work, not for saleThis handcrafted knife features a Damascus steel blade paired with polished mammoth tooth handles. The tooth displays striking brown, cream, tan, and blue-gray layers created by its natural internal structure. The sweeping bands run diagonally across the handle and complement the layered pattern of the Damascus steel. This piece has been sold and is preserved in the Rough Cut Lapidary gallery as an example of past work.
About Mammoth ToothMammoth tooth preserves complex internal tooth structure that can produce distinctive bands, layers, and colors when cut and polished. Because mammoths are extinct, mammoth tooth is a finite material that cannot be produced again. All mammoth tooth used by Rough Cut Lapidary is legally sourced before purchase, and we retain available source information that accompanies the material. Mammoth tooth and mammoth ivory are different materials.
