The stone measures approximately 2 1/4 by 1 5/8 inches. This piece has been sold and is preserved in the Rough Cut Lapidary gallery as an example of past work.
About GraniteGranite is a coarse-grained igneous rock that forms as magma cools slowly beneath Earth's surface. It is composed primarily of quartz and feldspar, commonly with smaller amounts of mica and other minerals. The different mineral grains give polished granite its characteristic speckled appearance and can produce a wide variety of colors and patterns.
