Damascus Steel Knife with Dinosaur Gembone Handles
Past work, not for saleThis handcrafted knife features a Damascus steel blade paired with polished dinosaur gembone handles. The fossilized bone shows warm orange and reddish coloration that gives the knife a distinctive natural appearance. The knife was originally sold with a sheath and is preserved here as an example of past Rough Cut Lapidary work.
About Dinosaur GemboneDinosaur gembone is fossilized dinosaur bone that has been mineralized over geologic time. Much of the dinosaur bone we use comes from the Late Jurassic Morrison Formation, which occurs across parts of Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and surrounding areas. All dinosaur bone used by Rough Cut Lapidary is legally sourced from private land.
